Branding, Web Design
The challenge faced for this project was to redesign the brand identity for St. Albans Visitor centre and the homepage for their website to show how the brand identity could be implemented.
The new brand identity is made up of a logo, typefaces and an icon set. The new logo is made up of a modern version of a Roman Sacred cross turned 45 degrees to mimic the cross on the St. Albans coat of arms. I have used modern roman fonts that are similar to the roman text engraved in the cathedral and clock tower in St. Albans. I have used icons, boxes, and drop shadows on the web page to give a clear sense of hierarchy within the content of the page. The use of drop shadows and a full screen slideshow also give the site a more modern and up to date appearance.
